 Having an institutional desire and commitment to embed or further embed WBL opportunities in its FE and HE programmes (for enhancement of the student experience) and then communicate this as part of its marketing strategy, ensuring that the university has policies, regulations, strategies, development, support and structures in place to ensure that this is an operational reality across all curriculum areas (or identify where it is not, yet)

Reflections

 

Lessons learnt - the process of using the toolkit

30th August - fantastic first CAMEL meeting - such openness and willingness to collaborate and work together to "change the world one step at a time". The Cowcaddens Concordat will come to life...

30th September - this project reaches everywhere - start of semester brings potential to 'spread the word'

31st October - trickier than imaginged to ensure everything included - project tentacles continue to spread

30th November - looking forward now - how to implement and operationalise

31st December - interim summary of activity drawn into presentation (for use in January/February); 2nd CAMEL meeting allows for round table discussion of how other projects are progressing

31st January 2013 - beginning to get the feeling that things are beginning to link up; engaging more with academic partnership as trust is developing to share experiences and good practice in this area

28th February 2013 - senior management engagement increasing (very positively); also links with other projects e.g. Learning2Learn; SHEEF; HEA
Lessons learnt - relating to your project and WBL

The possibility of integrating RPL into WBL has exciting potential - but may be a step too far (for now) - end of February view is that this is almost certainly the case!

The experience of the institutional engagement with existing employers might add richness to the project
