How it evolved

Page history last edited by Peter Chatterton 13 years, 6 months ago

The following table illustrates the genesis of the toolkit:

2010
Research

ELRAH (Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Articulation hub - an articulation hub funded by the Scottish Funding Council) funded research into work-based degrees and articulation and this included research into work-based degree models and case studies of successful HE/FE/employer partnerships together with the development of a gneral model for work-based degrees.

JISC funded a range of projects to develop e-learning approaches for lifelong learning and workforce development in their "Lifelong Learning and Workforce development" programme.

2011
Development

JISC funded a "benfits realisation" project to embed the research and outcomes/outputs of the lifelong learning/workforce development programme into a work-based learning maturity toolkit that can be used by other HE/FE institutions to review their performance in this area and to inform their planning. The development of the toolkit was undertaken by:

  • ELRAH / Edinburgh Napier / Telford College
  • University of Bradford
  • Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC)
  • University of Westminster
  • Craven College

and facilitated by Prof Peter Chatterton of Daedalus e-World.

2011
Pilots
The development partners listed above piloted the toolkit over a 6-month period.
