4-1 Transition and induction |
Main statement |
WBL Programmes are delivered and supported so that students can achieve the specified learning outcomes while further developing their professional career and while satisfying employer expectations and requirements.
|
Self assessment guidelines |
- HEIs and colleges ensure common approaches to recruitment where progression routes and life-long learning potential are fully explained to candidates.
- Institutions/course teams provide appropriate and effective pre-entry engagement and induction processes (e.g. negotiation of Learning Contract and any relevant APEL) which are accessible to all learners. For example, pre-entry activities/‘bridging’ courses are designed to prepare learners for degree level study (subject knowledge and/or skills).
- Academic/personal/social support mechanisms aid learner transition at every stage of the programme.
|
Evidence to look for |
- Delivery methods and support mechanisms (both physical and virtual).
- Assessment strategy.
- Employer feedback.
- Feedback from student groups.
- Data on student performance both during and after the course.
